Hi Deano here. I am a long time traveller and semi-retired Digital nomad (I don’t tend to travel as much as back in the day).
I first left England (as a traveller) in 2000, where I spent four years in Germany and two in the USA pursuing a career in Biology. That didn’t really work out, and I spent the next couple of years in Turkey, working on creating a gardening website and many other side-projects). This has never really paid the bills, so I had always had to work part-time to get by, first as a scientific copy-editor for a Japanese company, and then doing website development and optimization work.

These opportunities have long since gone, so I get by on a more limited (but plenty enough) budget, through my own means nowadays.
Anyway, I digress, following my time in Turkey, I moved to South East Asia, where I have been ever since. I have travelled extensively through the area (by cycle, motorbike, train, planes, and many a bus), and have lived in a few places long term, such as Saigon, Chiang Mai, Jomtien, and Siem Reap. And many other places for at least six months.

With this blog I hope to pass on some of my experiences of living, travelling, Semi-retiring in SE Asia. I also hope to archive some of my old travels and will cover some of my hobbies such as videography, playing the guitar, and cooking.

I am currently living in Jomtien, but will be on the move again soon. You can also find me on Youtube.
